Posted on May 16th 2019The Dover Academy boys have reached the final of the ‘Champion of Champions’ in the National Youth Alliance after beating AFC Stamford 1-0.
Ryan Kingsford scored the only goal after 30 minutes. We will now play Eastleigh in the final next Wednesday in a 14.00 kick-off at Oxford City FC.
It is such a fantastic achievement to be in the final out of all the academies in the country and goes to show where our group of players are and how hard they are willing to work to develop. The final will be the last game for some of our players and it’s been an absolute pleasure to enjoy their progress and development.
The group have been excellent throughout this season and still remain unbeaten. Whatever happens next week in the final I couldn’t be more proud of them. We will be hoping to be crowned the best academy in the country next week and I know the lads will do everything possible to make that happen.
