Turning Red for KSS Air Ambulance

It was fantastic to see the school turn red, as so many students and staff came together as a community to support the work of the Kent, Sussex and Surrey Air Ambulance. Years 7 and 8 were extremely lucky to have Fran, a KSS Charity fundraiser, come in to talk about the work of the charity, as well as two crew members, Adam and Al, who gave some live demonstrations of CPR and talked about what their job entailed. It was great to see so many students volunteering to have a go at CPR and practising life-saving skills.

Students also took part in a quiz about the air ambulance to test their knowledge and apply their critical thinking skills to ethical scenarios that the air ambulance is faced with every day. It was a really exciting morning for all, and some really important information was gained about the work of the air ambulance and CPR. We were overwhelmed by the generosity of donations, and are happy to announce that as a school we have raised £974.32 for KSS Air Ambulance! We are looking forward to our next fundraising event for our other charity, Demelza, which will take place in terms 5/6.
